Ordinary Landscape
Here's another image that is part of my series called, "Ordinary Landscapes."
Post Beaver Creek Fire & Snow
Below are a couple of images taken yesterday on Carbonate Mountain near Hailey, Idaho. This was the southern flank of the Beaver Creek Fire that burned in excess of 111,000 acres this past August.
Below, a yearling moose grazes near a sibling and mom. Gannet, Idaho.
Ordinary Landscapes
I have been working on a self project for the last couple of years I have titled, "Ordinary Landscapes." The image below never made it to this web site until now. It was taken in the middle of the summer with smoky skies. It was during a drought. I have mentioned this project here before and the aim is to capture something that is truly ordinary and perhaps even mundane and reveal it in an extraordinarily simple way. It needs to be compositionally simple as well.

Silver Creek
Winter temps are finally here with a high today in Picabo, Idaho hovering around 10Ëš. The fishing is now closed for the season in the Nature Conservancy and RR sections. It is however open downstream of the HWY 20 bridge. The image below was taken today of Silver Creek.

A Picabo Face
Effi, pictured below is a face you may see should you frequent Picabo, Idaho. She's usually wearing a smile and more often than not is invisible. She at first didn't want me taking this image of her. I sat with her at a table in a store in Picabo, round barrel chairs and ranch employees stopping by for lunch after a 5:30 am start, and said, "no, Effi I'll let you approve anything I take and they are your images." After taking a few shots of her I showed them to her and I became aware that she was in a bit of awe. The images are flawed technically and far from perfect but she didn't notice that stuff. She didn't notice the flaws she thought before hand were there. I don't think she had ever had an image taken of her as an adult. She was happy.

Picabo Hills
I took a quick drive down to Silver Creek this morning with my youngest son. He wanted to learn a bit more about photography. I let him run with it. "Shoot what inspires you," I told him. From Hailey all the way to Picabo there was a dense fog. Pretty great shooting conditions. As we were leaving, the fog started to break up.

Silver Creek
Below are two images taken a couple days ago high above Silver Creek near Picabo, Idaho.
Baetis
Our temps have dropped and the snowmaking has started on Baldy (Sun Valley, Idaho) and there are still a few baetis and midges around and if you are lucky you may even find a fish or two feeding on top. Below is an image of a baetis trying to get off the water just after drying its wings. For a sense of scale, you could easily put 4 or 5 of these mayflies on your pinkie.
Fine Art Fly Fishing & Landscape Photography Prints
I just added a new page to this site enabling the purchasing of prints. Here's the link: here I will be continually updating this page. Also, should you want a print that is not yet offered on the prints page, just contact me.

Now is the time to order prints for the holiday season!
Frozen Boots
A rookie mistake. Frozen boots and late fall frost coat a wooden bench on the Silver Creek Preserve, Idaho.

Kilpatrick Pond Project
Here are a few images of Silver Creek looking upstream and downstream from the Kilpatrick Bridge. These shots were taken today. Yesterday, as part of phase 1 of the Kilpatrick Pond Project, Silver Creek was re-routed (the temporary new channel is near the bottom of the Kilpatrick Pond) and the bottom of the pond emptied to begin work on the dam and the pond.
